  Travel tips

When you go on a trip, whether it is a business trip or a vacation or holiday trip you need to get hold of a few tips. First of all if it is vacation or holiday trip you want to know where you are going. You want to go to a place where you can relax on the beach, or maybe you want to go to a place where you can just stay inside your hotel room and sleep all day and not be bothered, maybe there is a chance that you want to go to a place just to do shopping. In any of these scenarios you want to find a place that suits you, so you will not go to Russia if you want to lie on the beach and take in the suns rays. You will not go to Egypt if you are looking to do shopping for designer outfits or cheap electronic equipment, and you will not go to the running of the bulls in Spain if you are looking to relax and sleep all day. These are just things that you will need to take into consideration, do you want to sleep, do you want a beach, do you want to shop and if you want to do all of these things, what is the perfect place? So a good list of travel tips is needed there.

On a business trip you do not have a choice as to where you have to go, and if your company is paying for the flight fees and the hotel chances are that you really do not have a choice as to which flight to catch, or which hotel to stay in. However, you can make a few choices of your own, like what clothes to take, what book to read on the plane, and what to pack. Also, if you find that you will have a few minutes, or any hour to spare in between meetings then you could use that time to do other things, like shopping, sleeping or relaxing on the beach. Maybe you always wanted to take in a play at the theatre in this specific city or town you are going to. If you find that you have a few hours to play with, make sure that you find a few travel tips for the city you are going to. You will look for things like what to do, where to go, what to see, and things like this. Look for things that just generally interest you. Before you leave for your flight, make sure that you have everything written down, because if our only have a few hours to spend you do not want to spend the bulk of them looking for thing to do in the city you are in. Take with you names and numbers to taxi or cab services, emergency numbers for that city, make sure that your cell phone can roam and do not forget to take your charger with.

VisualDNA, a new way to search for the perfect hotel

Filed under: Airfare, Hotels, Travel — admin @ 9:30 am

By Roberto Garabell

In September of this year, Imagini and Hotels.com launched a brand new hotel search tool designed to match travellers with hotel recommendations using an image-based quiz.

Using Imagini’s technology, the Visualiser assesses each user’s responses to a series of questions, with only visual prompts for answers. These responses create a personal profile (or VisualDNA) for the traveller, which is then used to search the database and recommend hotels that match their needs. Travellers choose from a series of images - including hotel style, restaurant and room type - to describe what kind of experience they are looking for.

With one simple click, travellers can then book a stay at any of the recommended hotels using the normal booking process. Taking less than a minute to complete, the tool learns about the needs of the traveller (over 30 billion combinations are possible) and immediately returns a refined set of the most appropriate hotel recommendations to suit their character and travel preferences. Not only does the product dramatically reduce the time it takes to find a hotel, it also enables people travelling together to simultaneously view the possible choices and vote on their preferences.

Additional features of the visualiser include a ’surprise me’ function that provides inspiration by matching requirements to destinations around the world, when users have a hotel style in mind, but are not yet decided on the destination. A ’share feature’ enables travellers to save a hotel search and then send to friends or family to poll their favourite choices. For group travel, this completely removes the need to spend additional time copying and pasting links into an email to collate opinions. An easy-to-use slider bar to refine searches even further - users can choose to narrow the selection towards the no frills or luxury end, or to make the selection more modern or traditional to find a hotel that matches their requirements.

Earlier this year, Imagini launched the Visualiser in partnership with Hotels.com, a completely new way to find a hotel online. It is the first commercial application of Imagini’s VisualDNA technology. The tool uses a short, image-based quiz to deliver relevant hotel recommendations taking hotel style, choice of restaurant and type of room into consideration. This new way of bespoke hotel search helps users to find far more relevant hotels that match their VisualDNA.
